We all read the typical „everyone needs a trenchcoat“ before. The it-girls of today wear it (think of Alexa Chung) and the icons of the past did, too (Audrey Hepburn). Yes, the trenchcoat has a long history and has become the one fashion staple everyone needs. Despite the fact which hardly anyone addresses: it can look quite unadventurous and stuffy.

Fashion’s All-time Favorite:

The Trenchcoat

Trenchs are like round pumps with a mid heel, fitted white blouses, plaid blazers. They are classics and as classics they can look pretty old-fashioned. To beat the oldie-stigma, it is best to pair them with a modern counterpiece, like a frayed hem jeans.

Even if trenchcoats certainly don’t win the price for the most exciting piece of clothing, they are practical. Especially to tame sexy outfits or to upgrade a causal everyday look. I already own a beige and grey one. Recently I fell in love with this strawberry-colored one from Monki. A nice update to the classic style of the trench!
